Quick Honey Sesame Chicken
This post is sponsored by Tyson Chicken and The Daily Meal. I received a package of Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips to develop a recipe with, however all thoughts and opinions, glowing, gushing, or otherwise are 100% my own.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 lbs Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips (about 10 strips)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
- 2 gloves garlic; minced/grated
- 3 tbsp sesame oil; divided 2/1
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds; plus more for garnish
- 4 green onions; chopped
INSTRUCTIONS
- Allow the Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips to thaw enough to cut or microwave for about 90 seconds.
- Cut the chicken strips into cubes; set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together the honey, ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, rice wine vinegar, and garlic; set aside
- In a large pan or wok, heat 2 tbsp of sesame oil.
- Once hot, add the chicken, quickly flash frying it, making sure the oil has coated each piece. The chicken should have a slight 'wet' appearance.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of sesame oil, mix well.
- Pour in the sauce and bring to a low simmer.
- Add the tablespoon of sesame seeds and half of the chopped green onions, mix well.
- Once the chicken is warmed through, serve over rice, if desired.
- Garnish with the remaining green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
